Photographs taken on a 17 day study trip to China in June, 2011. As an inspiring trip to broaden the understanding of architecture from outside europe. The trip started in Beijing and ended in Shanghai.
A self arranged study trip to Copenhagen in relation to designing a dormitory and an urban space. The goal of the visit was to get a better grasp of the requirements and the experience of living in a modern dormitory. Thus among other things visiting the Tietgen dormitory in Orestaden.
Cubicons is a never ending icon project based on a simple cube with soft edges. The main focus of this project is to create high quality, realistic and good-looking icons.
This project will be updated from time to time as they get done. Feel free to download the icons here!
Expeto was, back then, an up-and-coming online store for hardware and software. I was hired to design the overall look of every webpage. From the look of the font to the smallest icon.
As part of the 5th semester we were on a study trip to the German city, Berlin. It might be the past of Germany that made it to one of Europe's most artistic and architectural metropolis. With such a powerful history it's become a place for thoughtfulness, innovation, renewal and a desire to question the existing. Qualities that can inspire. Here is a small list of some of the architecture and exhibitions we saw:
Judisches Musuem, The Nordic Embassies, Bauhaus-Archiv, The Embassy Quarter, Sony Center, Potsdamer Plats, Mies' Neue Nationalgallery, Eisenmans Denkmal, Brandenburger Tor, Gehrys Bank, Deutscher Bundestag, Bauhaus, Meistervilla, Einsteinturm, Olympia Stadium, Tempelhof Flughafen.
An architectural project based on the theme of functional, structural and aesthetic transparency in architecture and design analysis. The project focuses on programming and concept development, which means establishing a program with design specifications and performance criteria - creating a framework for the further design development.
This project is an extension of Aalborg's Art Gallery, Kunsten, which was designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, based in the outskirts of the central district and today stands as a landmark for the city.
The main focus is to expand the exhibition room area, as it's of today is a big limiting factor for Kunsten, as they have to hide permanent exhibitions in order to show special exhibitions. The expansion will therefor provide the needed space for various modern and different shows.
This project is a partly urban and architectural design. Taking place in in the area around Sygehus Nord in Aalborg, where the urban part of the project focuses on renewing the area and integrating business, housing, shopping, service and culture. The architectural part of the project focuses on designing a dormitory.
The urban part of the project wishes to create an active urban center, where social and recreational areas are integrated as parts of the urban room. Moreover the unique atmosphere from the area.
The architectural part of the project discuss the private sphere vs public space and gives a suggestion of how a modern dormitory should function.
This project is based on building a new office domicile located on the waterfront in Norresundby. Entering a partnership with SparNord, a big bank corporation in Northern Jutland, they are used as a main inspiration and brand for the further development. Therefor one of the main parameters is for the building to match their profile and values, where public relations and openness are important factors.
The building has to reflect that SparNord does not lead aggressive marketing, but is instead down to earth and in close contact with the customer.
To contribute to the local community, which is also a SparNord value, an outdoor space is designed to invite to public stay
The result of our 2-3 weeks workshop, which discussed the scale of furniture and architecture. The point of the workshop was to critically design a tectonic "place to sit" in 1:1 which experimentally explores the particular tectonic potential of plywood at a scale which interrelates furniture and architecture.
The design must be self-standing, structurally stable and able to withstand the load of a person and the footprint must be no larger then 2 square metre.
In connection with the annual festival in Lemvig, Denmark I had the opportunity to create this colorful and energetic poster. The client had pretty lose demands on the task so it opened up for some great opportunities.
Cupio.dk was my former portfolio, where I presented my graphic work. The theme is highly inspired by nature and the vivid colors it brings along.
As part of launching the site a teaser was made to add interest upon it.
A personal icon project created over a weekend. The full collection consist of 27 different folder icons - all from music, games, download, back-up folders etc. They were made in both a grey and blue folder edition.

My name is Andreas Myrup and I am a Student at Architecture & Design, Graphic Designer, Photographer, Ski enthusiast and an inspired get-doner/go-getter.
I have for a long time felt a great passion for design, whether it be in web, print, industrial design or architecture. My first encounter with this feeling happened in high school, where I through friends began designing posters, layouts for papers, small movie clips and webpages. After my 3 years in high school this great desire for design stuck with me and was something I wanted to explore further.
Even though the journey started in digital designs and the interwebs it ended in another direction of design - architecture. I started my education in Architecture&Design at Aalborg university in 2008 and after 3 years I finished my bachelor degree. Today I'm studying for my master degree (with a specialty in architecture). Though architecture is a bit different from my earlier days it has a lot of common denominators, which I try to use at the university. Communication is a big word in any design field, so being used to working with drawings and computer graphics have helped me a lot to get my message through.
In between my studies I have worked as freelance designer for different companies and added my touch to the graphic field. I'm always on the lookout for freelance graphic work or future internships (in architecture, autumn 2012).
Through my education and work have I learned the following programs:
